Henads and Monads Suspended from First House Dignities (the One)

The One

At the top are the four dignities in house 1. Below Mars in Aries is a set of planets in signs and two sets of zodiacal signs. The former are the planets in rulership in the metaphysical chart that are designated as “Being”; this is the monad of Being. The latter are the signs in which Mars is in dignity; this is the henad of Mars. The leftmost set lists the signs in the order of rulerships, exaltations, detriments, and falls, and the rightmost set lists them in the order of the zodiacal signs from Aries to Pisces.

Below the Sun in Aries is a list of planets in signs and a list of zodiacal signs. The planets in signs are the planets in rulership in the metaphysical chart that are designated as “Life” (but Sun in Leo is not listed); this is the monad of Life. The signs below the Sun are the rest of the signs in which the Sun is in dignity; this is the henad of the Sun.

Below Venus in Aries are two sets of signs, Mars, and a set of planets. The sets of signs are the signs in which Venus is in dignity, which constitute the henad of Venus. The signs in the leftmost set are listed in the order of the zodiacal signs; the rightmost in the order rulership, exaltation, detriments, and fall (but Taurus, in which Venus is in rulership, is missing and Aries is repeated).

Mars is Mars in Taurus, in detriment (Nature). The planets are the planets of the detriment ring, beginning with Jupiter in Gemini, although the last planet looks like Venus but should be Mercury (Pisces) if this list includes only planets in detriment.

Below Saturn in Aries is a set of signs and a set of planets in signs. The signs are the other signs in which Saturn is in dignity; this is the henad of Saturn. The planets in signs are the planets of the fall ring; this is the monad of Body.

At the bottom left are the four dignities of house 1, and from each of the first three planets are suspended the dignities of houses 2 and 3 that are in the same ring (for example, Venus and Mercury, the rulerships of houses 2 and 3, are suspended from Mars, the rulership in house 1), with the Taurus dignities labeled “Inf” (Infinity) and the Gemini dignities labeled “Bound.”

At the bottom right are the dignities of the first quadrant (the Triad), grouped by rulerships, exaltations, detriments, and fall. Above Mars in Aries are the rest of the Being rulerships and below it are the rest of the signs in which Mars is in dignity. Below Venus in Taurus are the rest of the signs in which Venus is in dignity (except for Venus in Aries). Above Mercury in Gemini are the planets in the exaltation ring, but Jupiter in Cancer is missing and Mercury in Virgo appears twice. Below Mercury are the rest of the signs in which Mercury is in dignity. Above the Sun in Aries are the Life rulerships, except for the Sun in Leo, and below it are the rest of the signs in which the Sun is in dignity. Below the Moon in Taurus are the other signs in which the Moon is in dignity.

In the upper right are the dignities of the first quadrant, which can be viewed as either four columns of the planets in rulership, exaltation, detriment, and fall (reading left to right) or three rows of the dignities in houses 1-3 (reading top to bottom).
