Three Ways of Viewing the Seven Planetary Functions

This chart is filled out just for Saturn and Jupiter, but one can see how it could be completed for the other Chaldean planets plus Dragon’s Head and Tail by following the same pattern.

The first column (starting from the left), labeled “Itself” and “dignity,” lists the signs in which Saturn is in dignity (the Saturn henad), in the order of the zodiacal signs from Aries to Pisces.

The next column, labeled the “Principle of Difference,” lists the planets in fall, starting with Saturn in Aries, in the order of the zodiacal signs—that is, the Body monad.

The next column, labeled “other,” lists the signs in which Saturn is not in dignity, in the order of the zodiacal signs.

The next column, labeled “dignity,” lists the signs in which Jupiter is in dignity (the Jupiter henad).

The next column, labeled “Soul,” lists the planets in detriment (Soul)—that is, the Soul monad.

And the last column, labeled “other,” lists the signs in which Jupiter is not in dignity.
