The Intersection of the Divided Line as the Gnostic Functions of Individual Soul and the Universe Fabricated by the Demiurge

Divided Line (Plato)

There are four lines of planetary glyphs.

The top row consists of the rulerships and exaltations in the third quadrant. Reading left to right, these are the rulership (Being) of house 9, the rulerships (Life) of houses 8 and 7, the exaltation of house 9, and the exaltation of house 7.

Arrows point to the planets in the next row, which are the dignities of house 10, in the order rulership, exaltation, detriment, and fall.

The next row consists of the dignities of house 11 (Saturn in Aquarius, the “empties,” and the Sun in Aquarius), reading left to right, as well as the detriments in houses 5-11, reading right to left (the Sun in Aquarius is in detriment so it’s both a house-11 dignity and part of the detriment ring).

The planets in the detriment ring are divided according to the sections of Plato’s Divided Line: the Sun in Aquarius is correlated with the lowest section (the perception of shadows), the Moon in Capricorn with the next section (the archetype of the sensible object), the three detriments in the third quadrant with the next section (intermediates and reasons), and the two detriments in houses 5-6 to the highest section (the Ideas).

The last row consists of the dignities of house 12. The roman numerals at the bottom refer to which quadrant the dignities associated with each section of the Divided Line are in, and the labels below them indicate the state of consciousness associated with the gnostic functions in each quadrant.
