Idea of Man

The dignities of houses 9-12 of the metaphysical chart are drawn in light pencil in four partial “rings,” which group these dignities as rulerships, exaltations, detriments, and falls (reading from outer ring to inner).

Superimposed on the first three rings, in darker pencil, are the dignities of houses 1-4 (in rulership ring), 5-8 (in exaltation ring), and 9-12 (in detriment ring), which symbolize the Idea of Man in Being, the Idea of Man in Soul, and the Idea of Man in matter, respectively.

The dignities are distributed so that the dignities of houses 1, 5, and 9 are in the rings in house 9 of this diagram, the dignities of houses 2, 6, and 10 are in the rings of house 10 of this diagram, the dignities of houses 3, 7, and 11 are in the rings of house 11 of this diagram, and the dignities of houses 4, 8, and 12 are in the rings of house 12 of this diagram (indicated by the three roman numerals outside each house).

The Unity of the Idea of Man in Being is represented by the dignities of house 1 of the metaphysical chart, placed in house 9 (rulership ring) of this diagram; the Unity of the Idea of Man in Soul is represented by the dignities of house 5 of the metaphysical chart, placed in house 9 (exaltation ring) of this diagram; and the Unity of the Idea of Man in matter is represented by the dignities of house 9 of the metaphysical chart, placed in house 9 (detriment ring) of this diagram.
