The Dignities of the Four Quadrants Arranged as Kabbalistic Trees

In the center is the twelvefold metaphysical chart, with the dignities in four concentric rings: rulerships, exaltations, detriments, and falls. The lines of the cross dividing the circle into four quadrants extend outward, and the Kabbalistic trees in each quadrant are, for the most part, composed of dignities from just that quadrant.

In the first quadrant, there are three trees. The tree labeled “One above being” lists the four dignities of house 1 at the top. The dignities of house 2 form a column to the left, and the dignities of house 3 form a column to the right.

Below this tree, there is another one that consists of the four dignities of house 4 at the top, labeled “‘one’ (unity of) Being,” the dignities of house 5 below and to the left, and the dignities of house 6 below in the center and to the right.

There is a third tree in this quadrant, below house 3, which consists of the dignities of house 2, labeled “∞ [infinity],” on the left, the dignities of house 3, labeled “bound,” on the right, and the dignities of house 4, labeled “unity of Being,” at the bottom.

There are two Kabbalistic trees in the second quadrant, each composed of the ten dignities in the second quadrant. The tree labeled “One above being” consists of three columns. The left column consists of the dignities of house 4, the central column consists of the dignities of house 5, and the right column consists of the dignities of house 6.

The tree labeled “One as being” consist of six rows: Being rulership (house 4), two Life rulerships (houses 5 and 6), two exaltations (houses 4 and 6), Soul detriment (house 4), two Nature detriments (houses 5 and 6), and two falls (houses 4 and 6).

In the third quadrant, there is a tree consisting of the nine dignities of the third quadrant (the Dragon’s Tail, exaltation in house 9, is not listed), labeled “One posterior to beings.” It consists of five rows: Being rulership (house 9), two Life rulerships (houses 8 and 7), exaltation (house 7), three Soul detriments (houses 7-9), and two falls (houses 7 and 8).

To the left of this tree are the three dignities of house 9, labeled “One after beings.”

In the fourth quadrant, there is a tree consisting of the ten dignities of the fourth quadrant, labeled “One in beings.” It consists of six rows: Being rulership (house 10), two Life rulerships (houses 12 and 11), two exaltations (houses 10 and 12), Soul detriment (house 11), two detriments (houses 12 and 10), and two falls (houses 12 and 10).
