Divided Line (Plato)

The four quadrants of the metaphysical chart are depicted, with the four cardinal points labeled with the names of the four gnostic functions associated with the four sections of Plato’s Divided Line: the ascendant with perception, the nadir with intuition, the descendant with rational cogitation, and the midheaven with sensation.

The rulerships, exaltations, and detriments of houses 12 and 1, 3 and 4, 6 and 7, and 9 and 10 are listed. The dignities are located as if they were in the concentric rings of the metaphysical chart, with the rulerships in the outermost ring, the exaltations in the next ring, and the detriments in a ring drawn at a distance midway to the center. The rulership and exaltation of house 2 are also listed.
