Universal Manifestation (Houses 9-12)

The circle on the right represents house 9 of the metaphysical chart, which intersects with another circle to its left, which represents house 10. The circle on the far left represents house 12, and the intersection of the house-12 circle with the house-10 circle forms a vesica, which represents house 11.

Saturn in Aquarius, the rulership of house 11, is at the top of the vesica, and the Sun in Aquarius, which is the detriment of house 11, is at the center.

The seven Chaldean planets, as viewed from a geocentric perspective, are also listed along the nadir-midheaven line dividing the vesica vertically, and each of the four gnostic functions is correlated with one of the cardinal points of the vesica. The dignities of houses 9, 10, and 12 are listed along the inside of the circumference of their respective circles.

The vesica is divided into twelve sectors, and the dignities of houses 9-12 of the metaphysical chart are distributed so that the house-9 dignities are in the first quadrant, the house-10 dignities are in the second quadrant, the house-11 dignities are in the third quadrant (but note that the Dragon’s Head is listed in house 9 instead of the “empties”), and the house-12 dignities are in the fourth quadrant of the vesica. Damiani sometimes refers to this configuration of dignities as the “Jupiter ring” or “Demiurgic Intellect ring.”

Each of the dignities in the vesica is associated with one of the sixteen states of consciousness, where each of the four states—turiya, prajna, taijasa, and vaishvanara—is, in turn, divided into four, so there is, for example, turiya-turiya, turiya-prajna, turiya-taijasa, and turiya-vaishvanara.

In this diagram, when determining the name of the state that applies to a dignity, the quadrant determines which of the four states comes first, and the ring determines which of the states comes second. For example, Saturn in Aquarius is associated with vaishvanara-turiya (v.t.) because it’s in the fourth quadrant, so it’s a form of vaishvanara, but it’s in the rulership ring, so it’s the turiya form of vaishvanara—that is, vaishvanara-turiya. (Jupiter in Sagittarius is not labeled consistently with this schema; it should be taijasa-turiya, not turiya-taijasa.)

Outside the house-9 circle, near the glyph for Jupiter, which is in rulership in Sagittarius, are the glyphs of five planets. These are the rulerships of houses 4-8.

Outside the house-9 circle, near the glyph for the Dragon’s Tail, which is in exaltation in Sagittarius, are the glyphs of five more planets. These are the exaltations of houses 1-7, omitting the Dragon’s Head in house 3.
