Twofold Zeus and Soul Vehicles Nested within the Metaphysical Chart

Twofold Zeus

The twelvefold circle has the twelve Ideas on the outside. Just inside the circumference, the rulerships and exaltations of each house are listed.

Inside the circle is a vesica, divided into twelve sectors by the twelve houses of the circle. Just inside the vesica along its border are the detriments of the metaphysical chart, which represent Universal Soul (the Nature detriments in parentheses).

Between this vesica and the smaller vesica it contains are the dignities of houses 9-12 distributed so that the house-9 dignities are in the first quadrant of the vesica, the house-10 dignities are in the second quadrant (but Saturn in Capricorn is missing), the house-11 dignities are in the third quadrant, and the house-12 dignities are in the fourth quadrant. Damiani sometimes refers to this configuration of dignities as the “Jupiter ring” or “Demiurgic Intellect ring.”

Note that the placements of some of the detriments and some of the dignities of the Jupiter ring don’t follow the pattern in which the detriments are closer to the perimeter of the larger vesica and the dignities of the Jupiter ring are closer to the center of the vesica. For example, in houses 7-12 of the vesica, the detriments are closer to the center of the vesica and the dignities in the Jupiter ring are closer to the perimeter of the vesica. Also Mercury in Pisces (Nature) is missing from the detriment ring, although this might be because it is also part of the Jupiter ring. Inside the smaller vesica, all the falls are listed (in houses 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 12). The falls represent the various vehicles of the human soul.
