The Dignities of the First and Second Quadrants and Some Henads Associated with Them

At the top, there is a table. The top row consists of the ten dignities of houses 1-3 (first quadrant), and they are grouped into a sevenfold: One, Being, Life, Intellect, Soul, Nature, and Body. The rows are individual human beings—for example, one row spells “Anthony.” The table thus indicates that every human being participates in each of these monads.

Below this table, there are two lines of planetary glyphs. The top line consists of the ten dignities of houses 1-3 (first quadrant), and the bottom line consists of the ten dignities of houses 4-6 (second quadrant). Each line is divided into four groups: rulerships, exaltations, detriments, and falls.

Some of the planets have zodiacal signs listed below them, and one (Sun in Aries) has signs listed both above and below it. These signs are the other signs in which that planet is in dignity, and all together they constitute the henad of the planet.

The top line shows the henads of Mars and the Sun, and the bottom line shows the henads of the Moon and the Sun. The signs in which the planet is in dignity, when read from top to bottom, are in the following order: rulerships, exaltations, detriments, and falls, and when a planet has two rulerships, the rulership (Being) comes before the rulership (Life). Below these rows of planets and signs is a circle divided into four quadrants, labeled “One,” “Being,” Soul,” and “Body.”
