Henads

The line of planetary glyphs consists of the ten dignities of houses 1-3 (first quadrant) in the order rulerships, exaltations, detriments, and falls.

Above and below the first occurrence of each glyph (reading from left to right), there is a list of zodiacal signs. These are the other signs in which that planet is in dignity, and together with the dignity in the first quadrant, they constitute the henad of the planet.

The signs above each planet, reading from bottom to top, are in the order of rulerships (Being), rulerships (Life), exaltations (Intellect), detriments (Soul), detriments (Nature), and falls (Body).

The signs below each planet, reading from top to bottom, are in the order of the zodiacal signs from Aries to Pisces. (Not all of the signs in which the Sun is in dignity are listed below the Sun, but the glyph for the Sun is repeated instead.)

One of the sixteen states of consciousness can be associated with each dignity, since it depends only on the planet’s position in quadrant and ring, but these states are indicated here only for the dignities of Mars.
