Polarization and intensification take place as soon as we talk of manifestation -- purusha and prakriti.

Production is always from point of view of substance -- prakriti.

Therefore independent of purusha. (Guenon -- erroneous assumption). All purushas synthesized in objective second half. [Note: Reference is to diagram below (taken from another class) in which Ishvara or World-Mind is represented by a circle split in half, with the top half representing subjective ideation, or World-Mind contemplating its own essence, and the bottom half representing objective ideation, or World-Mind contemplating the universe that is to be.]

Tim's Paper -- Indriyas

Perception - subtler, action grosser, organs interpenetrate (touch with eyes, grasp with feet) -- organs of grasping through image of feet.

Levels -- 1) gross, 2) psychical, 3) imaginative, 4) mental, 5) intuitive.

Example -- 2) Assimilation of a projection, compulsion of complex -- 'grasping' and 'sensing' its meaning. Generation -- active imagination.

Action -- my relation to an object-- what is common to subject and object.

Perception -- reveal qualities of the object → freedom from external -- what is differentiated from subject and object.

Perception -- hearing (most universal) - touch - sight - taste - smell

Without the co-existence, interrelation and ultimate identity of the individual and the cosmos, Samkhya is not intelligible.

Dickie -- Blavatsky's akasha not equal to Samkhya's akasha but is equal to Mahat. [Note: H.P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine.]

Element akasha is equal to ether and ether is an aspect of akasha. [Note: In Blavatsky, ether is considered the grossest form of akasha.]

All things from ether -- storehouse of forms and ideas. Plato's World-Soul. Primordial substance. Chaos and reflection of spirit → ether → manifestation.

Jung -- Psychology of Transference -- elements, (criss)-cross [Note: C.G. Jung, CW 16, The Practice of Psychotherapy, "The Psychology of the Transference". The word 'criss' is best guess, partly cut off of scan.]

Tony [Anthony Damiani (AD)] -- Ethers -- formative principles -- molds the substance, but not a subject.

1) Heat -- [symbolized by circle] -- radiates out. Creates space -- centrifugal -- anti-individual.

2) Light -- [symbolized by triangle] -- radiates out. Creates space -- centrifugal -- anti-individual.

3) Chemical -- [symbolized by half-moon] -- suctional, contracting -- like water flows to a center of gravity -- partial individualization.

4) Life -- [symbolized by square] -- suctional, contracting -- strong individualization -- particular, determinate.

Earth -- exhales at dawn, inhales at sunset. Two states of retention.

Weather of Earth, osmosis of fluids (sap in tree), tides, barometer:

3 and 4 -- in exhalation, expands to circumference of 1 and 2.

In inhalation, expands to own circumference.

AM -- dew in grass

Spring = exhale

Water table goes up with exhalation.

Exhale puts pressure on atmosphere → barometer up.

Blue air -- due to air ether.

Color arises from conflict between light and darkness -- darkness is not absence of it, but an actual entity. Different colors of a thing in light and dark.

Colors do not come out of light, but the conflict.

Phenomenal world has etheric forces behind it molding it.

Sun -- life ether, sucks in -- pulls 1, 2, and 3 towards it, 4 goes in the other direction to maintain itself. Without Sun → equilibrium.

Sun → disturbance of ethers → Earth's rotation.

Phosphorous -- light, no heat = light ether.

Also radioactivity. Q_e heat [Note: Radiant energy/heat.] = light and heat ethers.

Substance of germ cell is structured by what? Ethers.

Sound ether comes from Moon.

Colors are developed in the light, not out of it.

Darkness is one of the ethers.

Knowledge is kept in the ether in the heart and reflected in other mediums.

Music directly affects your ether body.

When you forget a concept -- it is unconscious -- it is forming your perception and reality.

The soul is not necessarily equal to consciousness.

Etheric forces = cosmic thoughts, continual evolving -- resistance offered by astral causes evolution on a higher level. Same forces on higher levels -- astral limits vegetative forces and causes them to operate on a higher level.

Organ is formed by a force. After body is formed, thought develops. Body reflects outer and inner processes -- dim in animals, bright in man -- reflecting → ego-consciousness, result of inner reflection.

Astral destroys life -- restrains and kills vegetative function. No consciousness without astral. Brings etheric process to a conclusion -- otherwise it will go on forever. Astral represents ideas which embody in and determine etheric. Astral forces are derived from the celestial bodies. Etheric forces individualize, astral determine. Astral produces Samkhya's subtle body, etheric produces the substantial aspect.

Something in astral is higher -- 'astral ideas', 'entities' -- the instincts themselves are ideas in the astral realm.

Space and time are attributes of the thing. Ideal forces are not in space and time, they make space and time.

Senses = astral pole.
