Head conjunct Sun:

Head -- squirrel, etc. [Pisces 2, "Almost as if possessed with man's intelligence a tiny squirrel remains watchful on a limb hidden from the hunters."]

Sun -- Pope holding audience, etc. [Sagittarius 30, "A picture of regal and sacerdotal pomp and glory reveals itself; the Pope is holding audience in his palace."]

Timothy: Head -- The animal intelligence of squirrel indicates that there is an innate knowledge, though unconscious, of his own inner nature. The inner nature was showing him something of his own nature. At this time he decided not to be passive to what was given to him in terms of his librettos.

Anthony: Read Head again. (Head degree read.) Recognition on his part that he's going to have a Rorschach test with his own ink blots to the way he prescribes it. If I'm going to project something into a story, it has to be something meaningful to me.

Anthony: Read Neptune/Uranus.

Neptune -- a huge hulk of a medium. [Pisces 23, "A huge bulk of a woman medium has gone into trance and around her are entities continually forming and dissolving."]

Uranus -- a glass bottom boat. [Gemini 1, "A glass-bottomed boat drifts silently and easily over a constantly shifting panorama of marine wonders."]

Timothy: The knower in him revealed to him he had this transpersonal feeling function. Uranus as a knower, knew the Neptune -- this imaginative and feeling Neptune. Neptune invaded his consciousness; he was going to live out the Neptune.

Anthony: This is the point Dickie brought out last week.

Anthony: Uranus is the knower in us. / Neptune was on top of it. Uranus recognized Neptune as the sources of inspiration and feeling.

I'm reading the chart not as if Puccini understood what was going on but as the Soul knew what was going on.

These Reason Principles are feelings. A Reason Principle is not an abstraction or a concept--it's a living organism. He recognized that that was the source of the inspiration.

Timothy: The symbol is the woman meditating so could he have been aware of the Reason Principles as these entities around him--by projecting them he came to know them as himself.

Anthony: The seven Chaldeans have the technique--but it is the Neptune that has the feelings.

Timothy: His inner being knew this was so and would be his guide.

Anthony: The soul of Puccini would recognize through Uranus that Neptune was the soul of the inspiration.

Dickie: The recognition was coming in a non-cognitive way--that is, through writing music.

Anthony: He wasn't a very self-reflective person.

Linda: What he views through the glass-bottomed boat--the marine wonders--is what he's writing about.

Timothy: The meaning of eighth house--love, sex, and death--is the content Uranus writes about. He sees the shiftings in life itself. With Neptune there he would work out that knowledge. He did give humanness to his characters . . . in Manon, caught between man and gold . . .

Anthony: The human is composed of the seven Chaldeans--that are the seven psychic functions and categories of the imagination and within that you must find the material to create a work of art. But Uranus Neptune Pluto will [sic; we'll] leave apart.

Anthony: Saturn = Japanese lanterns [Leo 12, "Japanese lanterns, music from a string ensemble and an animated interweaving of colorful figures mark a garden party."] / Sun pope / Saturn in detriment by sign, ruler by house. They're in trine. Mars = mystic Babylon [Aquarius 30, "A mystic moon-lit field near the site of a mystic and traditional Babylon has sprung into delicate white bloom."]

Anthony: (Anthony plays music.)

Saturn opposite Mars -- Don't you think he had an apperception of the depth of the meaning in Mars despite of what we say about the shadow being horrible? Richard, what did you notice about Aquarius?

Richard: There is a movement from one loka to another.

Timothy: Does that opposition bring an awareness into him so he can objectify it?

(Anthony plays more music.)

Anthony: Just look back at your love affairs! Do you have anything but regrets and disillusionment. This woman chasing for him was an old story. He got a glimpse into how deeply his shadow was grounded into him--in the blood.

The artist has to arrange his material in such a way as to bring forth the vasanas and order them in a certain ordered sequence. When he can do this he can go beyond the vasanas. But first this is the way: he has to bring forth the vasanas and order them in a certain way that duplicates the inspiration he is working with. So what was his woman chasing really all about? Yes--maybe bringing up the memory traces.

Anthony: Jupiter square Pluto -- Your guts get twisted around.

Timothy: Tosca: Pluto Conjunct Jupiter. Boheme: Pluto sextile Saturn, Head conjunct Pluto. Butterfly: Pluto opposite Venus. La Rondine: Pluto opposite Sun. Girl of the Golden West: [Pluto square Neptune; left blank in partial]. Il tabarro: No Pluto. Gianni Schicchi: No Pluto. Turandot: Pluto sextile.

If you listen to (Zen music) this [Note: 'this' is handwritten]--or Hindu music--you won't find Pluto there.

Avery: The cantilever bridge degree [Taurus 6, "A delicate cantilever bridge is in process of construction across a high narrow gorge."] indicates a very precise statement can be made about Pluto. The Jupiter square it seems that this is the beginning to manifest it.

Anthony: Was he descending into the realm of the body itself? Some of us want to go up and some to go down and he did--right into the body.

--The traits we have, we've had for a long time and it takes a while to change them.

Jupiter symbol = Two Dutch children. [Gemini 15, "Two Dutch children in their immaculate native costumes are studying their lessons together."] What are you going to do with our past (8th house)? The only time people are really aware of themselves is in the sexual act. . . .

Was it possible that this man in the past lived a religious life for which he wasn't suited? I know he decided to descend into the depths of the body, you know the body has mysteries, just like the spirit.

Linda: I don't see this in the Jupiter symbol.

Anthony: What Puccini chose to write about was shown by the aspects. Puccini needed to have a book (proper libretto) to draw out his vasanas.

. . . . Let's go on to progressions. Progressed Mars conjunct Neptune.

Timothy: Mars conjunct Neptune: Mars = moon-lit field / hulk of a woman = Neptune.

Anthony: Neptune represent a constant metamorphosis / Mars = shadow, conjunct Neptune--there is a metamorphosis of the bodily feelings.
