A) natal = psychic structure or ego, dynamics within the individual

[Natal] has 3 grades, 3 distinctions within the psyche:

3) septile -- an image of the non-psychic reality within the psyche

2) quintile - an image of the reflective (transits) within the psyche

1) normal

Septile = basic understandings worked into the psyche from past experience -- what your philosophy is (in Jung's sense of it stemming from your psyche). A vestige of prior intellection.

3) The intellectual understanding (of the fixed ideas) with which the psyche tries to understand itself.

2) Understanding of the relationships within the psyche.

1) The basic instinctual structure of the psyche.

Mars Neptune

Mars -- man of mean and low appearance [Leo 8, "A man of mean and low appearance, but with the burning fire of a great cause in his eyes, is stirring up discontent."] -- 11th house -- degree = I don't like the way things are -- stirs up discontent with things and a desire to change them -- 11th -- that's one of his aspirations -- 11th house planets are what you aspire to.

Neptune -- white rabbit metamorphosed [Scorpio 23, "A little white rabbit rests contentedly in his cage; before the eyes he metamorphoses into an elf in a fairy glade."] -- 3rd house -- need to get to the reality behind appearances. Universalization; transition.

[These] two degrees are fused. A confident self-drive aware of its place in the cosmic scheme = self-reliance. The Neptune universalizes the transformation the Mars is intent upon. Absolute faith in one's own growth and unfoldment.

[Edward] Bulwer-Lytton was born five hours apart and had this view of reality in his novels, i.e., concepts, but not in his life.

Bulwer-Lytton had a different Venus -- 27 Aries -- lost opportunity regained in the imagination. [Aries 27, "A panorama of blending events out of the past shows the regaining of lost opportunity through the imagination."]

Neptune Venus

Venus -- large disappointed audience [Aries 28, "A large audience is seen rejoicing in some disillusionment to which it has just been subjected."] -- 8th house -- the anima was devaluing and suspicious of all appearance, he won't even take his grief seriously.

The Neptune showed the Venus the higher values = a built in Platonism -- the deeper aesthetic behind the feelings.

Mars Venus

Venus also devalued the Mars -- self-drive. Mars stirred up the Venus. Spiritual independence while sharing his philosophy -- "This is my philosophy, you don't believe it, that's ok." -- this attitude is built into him -- the attitude of a philosophic Sage.

Venus -- the anima saw that everything was always being modified -- things are not what they appear.

Neptune transit to Mars Venus both trips to Europe -- first trip had disillusionment with others → faith in himself.

Part of Fortune [POF] -- Neptune conjunct Part of Fortune -- steady stream of people coming down a mountain to hear a man [POF, Scorpio 24, "A steady stream of people down a mountain side gives testimony to the power of the man who has there addressed them."] -- admiration for the power the man has.

Uranus Mercury

Mercury -- gardener maternally trimming palms [Gemini 25, "A gardener, with all of a mother's care for her child, is trimming a magnificent row of tropical palms."] -- 10th -- observation.

Uranus -- fire burning in abandoned house [Libra 8, "In the depths of the woods is an abandoned farm; in the deserted house a fireplace blazes merrily and mysteriously."] -- 1st.

[Uranus bi-septile Mercury]: A constant revelation of a transcendent viewpoint which he nurtured in each point -- anything.

No quintiles. The form he operated through was always the same form.

Only Pluto Moon bi-quintile -- Pluto has one set of septiles, Moon another -- two are linked through quintile.

Saturn bi-septile Sun

Saturn -- family tree [Virgo 14, "A large sheet of parchment is covered with finely lettered names and mysterious lines; it is a splendid family tree."]

Sun -- open rooms with mistletoe [Gemini 4, "A series of rooms in a hospitable house, opening one into the other, are decorated gaily with holly and mistletoe."]
