2/20/84 Astrology - Planets

(Missed last 1-2 months.)

Head -- coordinates the activity of all the planets and life events towards an understanding of the life goal or orientation.

The functioning of the Tail is basically psychical -- the understanding accrues to the Witness-I, not the psyche.

Head = reason-principles which have been understood → an impersonal superior kind of consciousness.

Saturn = the center of the self-sensitivity of the organism -- embodied soul as sensitive to any part of its own being or body = self-sentiency = Saturn ≠ consciousness per se. To reflect, the mental processes have to temporarily stop or get altered = nirodha.

Jupiter -- it organizes the interrelation of planets to each other for good or bad. I.e., how an aspect will operate. Grace of Jupiter = guru-kula. It can push you towards the universality inherent in the Idea of Man (=wholeness).

Venus -- knowledge by comparison (c.f. Pancadasi) -- the way in which two things or parts of the psyche are identical.

Mercury -- knowledge by analogy (c.f. Pancadasi) -- capacity of the psyche to relate any two parts of itself. Communication. Recognizes the universal quality present in two objects without focusing on the object itself.

7 Chaldeans = psychosomatic as a functioning organism, not consciousness in itself.

Trans-Saturnians = modes of universal mind (mental body) pervading or illuminating the psyche, or material body.

Uranus = particularized principle of knowing immediately active in the psyche.

Neptune = particularized principle of feeling immediately active in the psyche.

Pluto = particularized principle of willing immediately active in the psyche.

Uranus reveals the World-Idea, Neptune ties you to it, Pluto allows you to change your relation to it.
