Sun, 21 Taurus -- "A moving finger points to the significant passages in a large open book."

Rectification according to the ideas.

Book = life, seeing the significance of life.

Opposite degree [21 Scorpio] -- "A soldier runs the risk of court-martial in remaining absent without leave, but a lovely miss clings to him."

9th house -- rejection of formalism, soul being where it loves, lack of allegiance to the empirical intellect's viewpoint [Note: Notes are unclear here, seems there's a word missing.] to the in-seeing of 21 Taurus.

Natal and opposite degree are complementary from perspective of Witness-I.

Moon, 26 Sagittarius -- "The scene is an old-fashioned battle; in the hot hand-to-hand fighting a flag-bearer distinguishes himself."

Supremacy of common ideals over individual ambition.

High self-sacrifice.

The body-complex (Moon) was harmonious with the Sun and cooperated with its goal of holding the meaning first.

Daily living of his ideals and single-mindedness.

Opposite degree [26 Gemini] -- winter frost in woods, cosmic lacery. [Gemini 26, "The winter frost has stolen through the woods, and given to the trees and underbrush a witching cosmic lacery."]

Mercury, 29 Taurus -- "Two garrulous old cobblers are working side by side on their ancient bench."

Teaching by dialogue.

Cooperative wisdom between discursive reason and real intellect.

Cobblers -- simple, unscholarly -- concrete, not abstract thinking and communication.

Internal dialogue.

Is expressed in 10th house opposite degree as a lecturer -- Indian squaw pleading for her children. [Scorpio 29, "Flanked by the splendor of an Incan monarch's court a mother of captured princelets pleads archly for their lives."] Real social change is in the individual -- his Mercury was applied to this task.

Venus, 29 Gemini -- first mockingbird in spring. [Gemini 29, "High in a tree that has given only the faintest evidence of the returning spring, a mockingbird delivers its repertoire."]

Mockingbird song = a recapitulation of spiritual forms -- devotion, prayer, renunciation = a reminiscence of his past.

'As if' -- imitation, sensitivity to spirit (spring) = short path.

Opposite degree = fat boy mowing lawn = long path. [Sagittarius 29, "A perspiring fat boy is mowing the grass; he has discovered the handicap of flesh and is determined to lose it."]

Had to shed his own forms (flesh) to become a teacher.

Venus = capacity for sense-experience. What in life you will attach yourself to.

Mars, 12 Cancer -- "A slant-eyed Chinese woman is nursing a baby, and about the child is the glorious nimbus of divine incarnation [AB writes: experience]."

Mars = work done -- his Mars, materialization of spirituality, actualization of spirituality.

Opposite degree -- a student of nature lecturing. [Capricorn 12, "A student of nature is lecturing and conjures up dancing pictures of distant wonders before each listener."]

Mars would cut right to the problem and give people a way of imagining a solution.

Jupiter, 6 Cancer -- game birds feathering their nests. [Cancer 6, "It is in the flush of spring, and innumerable wild or game birds are seen feathering their nests."]

Jupiter = guide and regulator of instincts.

Degree = natural sense of the fitness of circumstances, development as a natural growth.

The way of Nature = Tao.

When to fit the opportunity to the time.

Saturn, 3 Scorpio -- A pioneer house-raising. [Scorpio 3, "At a clearing of pioneer days in the forest all the neighbors have gathered to assist in a happy house-raising."]

Sensitive to help he could provide or receive from others.

Giving birth to self-awareness.

To construct something requires reflection and objectification.

When self-sensitivity can be so all-embracing that it can be in sympathy with everything, it has reached a mature level.

Self-sensitivity is more appropriate than self-reflection which is too cognitive.

Opposite degree [Taurus 3, "A beautiful expanse shows natural steps leading upward to a lawn of clover in full bloom."] = the recognition that his self embraced everything made him extremely receptive to others → [one word/glyph illegible] seeing the universe as a friendly place which will provide all the necessary steps for your growth in the proper sequence.

Uranus, 18 Scorpio -- A quiet winding road covered with leaves leads to woods rich in coloring. [Scorpio 18, "A winding quiet road, carpeted by the falling leaves, leads through an old fashioned woods rich in autumn coloring."]

The means is the end.

This was his point of view.

The means is the witnessing of the manifestation of life -- the senses and what they are perceiving.

When the ego loses its dominance, all the functions are seen as aspects of the self and can experience fully.

Ripeness → unlimited functioning.

Life achieves its goal in personal excellence.
