This series covers events from 03/22/1982 - 11/01/1982

This series of classes examines Carl Jung's natal chart. Beginning with basic degree symbolism (March 22, 29), the analysis views Jung's Saturn at 25° Aquarius and his Sun at 4° Leo as constituting core identity patterns, emphasizing symbols as “totality-images” requiring felt experience rather than conceptual dissection. Early sessions (April 1, 19, May 3) explore psychological typology; examine major transits, including his 1944 heart attack/vision; develop interpretations of aspects; and examine progressions.

Mid-series classes (July 15, 17) distinguish the "soul's intention" from the empirical personality's interpretation of it and consider a methodological hypothesis that distinguishes the functioning of planets in dignity from those not in dignity. This hypothesis is tested by examining events in Jung’s life that correlate with transits of trans-Saturnians to natal planets in dignity, transits of trans-Saturnians to natal planets in nondignity, and transits of trans-Saturnians to natal trans-Saturnians and the North Node. The North Node is identified as Jung’s "image of God,” something unique to him, and the symbol indicates that his life was aimed at the development of the Witness-I, not the realization of the Atma, which explains his rejection of Vedantic teachings.

The July 31 session develops a tripartite methodology that first delineates the irrational soul (natal Chaldeans), then examines how the rational soul (transiting Chaldeans) works upon this structure, analyzes how the intellectual soul (trans-Saturnians) attempts transformation, and then begins analyzing the natal Chaldeans in Jung’s chart.

The Oct 9-10 sessions summarize and review previous work on the Neoplatonic framework that explains how the soul produces the ego and continually informs, nourishes, and develops it. This framework is used to explain how to read a chart and is illustrated by discussing how Jung’s discovery of archetypes can be correlated with various transits to his natal chart.

The final class (November 1) correlates the twelvefold nidana chain (Buddhist dependent origination) with the twelve houses and illustrates this by examining Jung’s natal chart, identifying his intercepted 1st-house Saturn as fundamental avidya (ignorance)—the primary identification with reflective consciousness that creates karmic consequences traceable through his entire psychological system. This positions Jung's chart as the perfect case study for understanding how consciousness creates both bondage and the potential for liberation.
