Ahamkara vrittis, vritti manifests object
Aries -- willing without object -- object as process/vritti
Taurus -- substantially conceiving the willing process -- object as object
Gemini -- orderedness of willing -- object as subject
Cancer -- taking the activity of the willing as a function (bhava). Reflection of Witness-I within the vritti which is taken to be the true subject.
Aries-Gemini -- content of ahamkara
Cancer -- function of ahamkara -- conceives of itself apart from Aries-Gemini -- which is impossible. Reflection of ahamkara (I) as a 'me'. An image of the world produced by the functioning of the senses, which then claims for itself an independent being as subject of that experience. Creates experience.

The entirety of the chart is a manifestation of the willing of the epistemological subject (ahamkara as tattva, a result of the functioning of the Overself) (which has willing (ahamkara as cause), feeling, thinking).
Epistemological subject is embodied in these three ways.
Cancer -- 'touch' -- appropriation activates your karma -- soul enters -- higher meaning of touch (touch is that actualization). Ahamkara bhava. Actualizes the beginningless ignorance which was latent. Differentiation of the instincts.

Buddhi vrittis taken as subject or object produce bhavas.
Scorpio -- separates the given feltness of the world into a subject and object. The act of distinguishing the subject and object and trying to know the felt givenness of the world.
Distinguishing process independent of object or subject.
Libra -- culmination of distinguishing in the object.
Leo -- substance of being as a feltness.
Virgo -- substance of being as a feltness distinguished.
Libra -- substance of being as a feltness distinguished into the object.
Scorpio -- substance of being as a feltness distinguished into the object and bound to it as dharma or adharma (the use you put your instincts to -- in or out of conformity with the basic instinct embedded in your substance).
Raga is attachment to the substance of one's own being. Tanmatra underlies whole chart -- Leo is the attachment to that substance.
Libra -- you face objective experience and also the fact that you as a subject are part of that objective experience.
Dharma -- going in conformity with the laws of one's own being.
Adharma -- going against the laws of one's own being.
[In reference to dharma/adharma]: The kind of attitude you have leaves an unconscious deposit on your subtle body.

Tim: Aries -- the will to become which has no object.
Tony: Willing considered independently of the goal.
Tim: Taurus -- the durability of will itself which is taken as the substance of the mind.
Tony: Taurus is substantially conceiving the willing process.
Tim: Gemini taking the successiveness of change as an ordering process and anticipating an individual approach to experience. Aries, Taurus, and Gemini are ahamkara-vrittis and arise together. Vritti manifests objects. Bhava is reference to objects. Cancer is the empirical subject that refers back to the I. It is the only bhava of Ahamkara.
Tony: Cancer is like the physical organ of eyesight, or physical function of eyesight. Aries, Taurus and Gemini are the content. Abhimana is the result of reflecting on the contents of experience. Cancer as a result of functioning conceives itself separate from the content, which is false. Abhimana is conceit of the I. The eye and content come together. Cancer conceives them to be separate. Simultaneous with the willing experience, Cancer is experienced as an I. Cancer is the organ I -- you say what is this I and I say these contents (Aries, Taurus, Gemini). Cancer is the one who thinks he has these objects, but the possession is imaginary. Ahamkara is reflected in Cancer as a me. When we consider reflective knowledge it is knowledge detached from the object or abstracted from the object and conceived of in itself. You consider the image detached from the functioning of the sense organs and as existing in its own right (abhimana). This is all in terms of willing alone. We tend to clothe willing materially. It's conceit to think you can separate the sense from the image and say the image exists per se.
Thinking, willing and feeling have to be going on simultaneously to have a manifested universe.
Ontologically a structured personality, a working hypothesis which is constantly transforme[d]. But there is no self-existent entity (ego).
