Problem -- how to reconcile PB's epistemology (heart center, etc) with Vedantic?

Vedanta -- mind goes out to the vast thought (primal image) and assumes the form of a portion of it.

The first object that the mind in its subtle form contacts is the brain, which amplifies it → vaishvanara consciousness.

The mind goes out to the brain first.

The cerebro-spinal system separates you from the world while the sympathetic nervous system unites you with it.

The form of the vaishvanara world depends on your brain. Your mind can't take the form of the object if the brain is damaged.

Hidden Teaching -- "Thing to Thought" [Note: Paul Brunton, The Hidden Teaching Beyond Yoga, Ch. 9.]

Panoramic world in itself = Sun's taijasa vast thought.

Sense reports we know of it = vaishvanara experience.

Sense reports = the way the seed-thought is reflected on (in) the brain = mind going out to object.

The seed-thought goes up to the subtle brain contained in the World-Soul.

The brain = the senses the mind goes out through in Vedanta.

Consciousness localized in subject = heart.

Consciousness intermediate = brain.

Consciousness localized in object = percept.

Vedantic description leaves out seed-thought.

Individual brain in cosmic thought (as taijasa) = nichrome wire.

What Vedanta calls pure consciousness is really taijasa consciousness.
