Santayana -- senses and nature

When PB [wrote] Wisdom of the Overself he did not provide for the distinctions that Anthony is making.

Gayatri applies to three lowest lokas -- Om Bhur Bhuvar Svahar.

The solar system of our Sun, and any entity contains or must traverse the seven lokas.

Paragraph 68 --

Simultaneity of World-Mind's knowledge of world series is in terms of second quadrant (sub specie aeternitatis) (Mozart intuiting symphony as a whole).

Seriality of World-Mind's knowledge is as World-Soul (fourth quadrant) = facticity or existence of universe, not idea of the universe (second quadrant).

The World-Soul's production is accompanied by what we call time (which is not a product of individual mind -- individual creates its own space-time continuum but the serial order of experience is determined by cosmic soul -- cf. "Birth of the Universe").

Chapter on World-Mind refers to World-Soul.

Example:

1) Mozart's intuition of whole piece = World-Mind.

2) Musician's playing out of whole piece in time = World-Soul.

1) = consciousness of World-Idea -- knowledge only as eternal.

2) = existence of World-Idea -- knowledge as serial.

#1 = World-Mind grasps its World-Idea in an all-timed fixity (paragraph 68).

Consciousness has two aspects --

a) projecting

b) abiding, its summit

"Unveiling of Reality" refers to Intellectual-Principle (World-Mind).

Demiurge -- fabricates world

Soul of the All --

The existence of a thing is derived from cosmic soul.

Our knowledge of a thing is from ourselves.

Paragraph 71 --

World-Mind does not have "perceptions" -- World-Soul does.

World-Soul is the space and time orders it embraces.

There is an order and limit to the forms in World-Soul but not to the essences in World-Mind.

Knowledge of all universes is World-Mind, of this universe [is] World-Soul.

Paragraph 72--

Totally inclusive all-accomplished Idea of universe = World-Soul's interior. If World-Soul sets up mental divisions = exterior.
