It is our belief that the astrological mandala is a fragment of an archaic wisdom, devised by persons of sapiential dimensions. It is a rare instance and product of the archetypal imagination that can present the topography of the subtle world through the sensible becoming. It (The chart) represents a formulation by reason principles of a symbolical method through which those very reason principles are being manifested. Even more precisely we are stating that the totality of the categories of thought (reason principles), through the intermediary of the powers of the soul, are being arranged and combined in an indefinite variety of ways to produce the physical reason principles which are then 'inserted' into matter and evolve and develop into material species. These species will therefore inherently contain and manifest those very reason principles in its perceived world - which is the very understanding he must assimilate in order to become the knower. The astrological chart therefore attempts to conjoin the processes that are going on in the subtle realm with the experiences that are going on in the sensible world. These experiences have a compulsive nature that forces the individual's attention and cannot be avoided, and through this process the individual soul powers are developed and refined until a maximal understanding is reached. We are in effect saying that through this progressive and individual unfoldment the world idea is being manifested, alongside of the individual. The identity of those reason principles which are becoming the sensible being, which in turn is assimilating those reason principles, is for us an instance at this level of the identity of knowing and being. Therefore what will be required will be the special advantages offered by the symbolical language of astrology, and the precise expression, but straightforward and plain philosophical language, in order to appreciate something of soul-making.
