Anima Mundi, Dragon, or unconscious = 360°, soul of the Earth

Degrees have three levels of meaning -- mental, emotional (psychic), and physical beings. The 360° organize your mental being (vehicles).

Psychic subject = quintile

Paragraphs 93-4 [Note: See Krishnachandra Bhattacharyya, Studies in Philosophy, Vol. 2, "The Subject as Freedom".] In one act of cognition is held the image and the process. The image is never quite able to unfold the process and is transforming. These mental processes accompany the very sensible manifestation that is taking place.

The idea is externalizing (actualizing) itself in the medium of the pranas.

Jung -- Neptune septile Uranus -- Mardi Gras [Leo 15, "The great American carnival, the Mardi Gras at New Orleans, is seen with a wealth of floats, decorations and merriment."] and pot of gold [Taurus 4, "The rainbow's pot of gold is revealed in the midst of a shower of sparkling and flashing colors."] = introspective awareness that the value of life is in the natural processes. This was the predisposition which he took to be itself relation of knowing (Uranus) and feeling (Neptune) -- i.e., there can be no reality outside of the psyche -- this was the keystone of his psychology.

Septiles are determinative of the psyche, the regulative reason-principles that organizes the reason-principles and how they are going to manifest.

Different people with 4° Leo [Leo 4, "An elderly man in evening clothes, of poised and military bearing, stands alone before a lovely mounted moose head."]

Jung's Sun, Emerson's Moon, Wagner's Jupiter. [Note: Earlier WG classes and astro.com have Emerson's Moon at Leo 5.]

Three levels of degree are included in Jones' description: lovely mounted moose head (see pp. 139-140 symbol book). [Note: Marc Edmund Jones, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology.]

First level -- first sentence = philosophic level

Second level -- 2-4 sentence, description = psychic

Third level = positive and negative = bodily

4° Leo

Septile, level 1 -- a pushy individual, i.e., ability to assert self and affect world.

Quintile, level 2 -- psychic process = a re-ordering of the instinctual. Tantra, "a magical ordering of the automatisms". Level 1 is strong enough to order his mental processes as level 2.

Regular, level 3 -- capacity for holding esteem from others = bodily.

Jung -- Pluto [Taurus 24, "A mounted Indian brave rides proudly with human scalps as trophies at his belt."] quintile Sun [Leo 4, "An elderly man in evening clothes, of poised and military bearing, stands alone before a lovely mounted moose head."] -- power of individual was unfolded on level 2, gave him the power necessary to reorganize his mental processes. Inflation took place in him on the psychic level. His preoccupation with Kant's Critique reflected his will to transform his psychic functioning. Pluto = Indian with scalps.

Emerson's Moon septile Jupiter

Jupiter = ritualistic séance [Virgo 26, "A highly ritualistic service in is process: officiating priests are automatons, a boy with a censer is rapt-eyed."]

Moon = center of practicality, reminiscence

Sense of the immediate availability of the soul's voice.

4° Leo allowed him to assert this to the world, with a septile it was an immediate given for him.

Moon = an aggressive practicality in applying morality.

Jung's Sun = preoccupation with creative imagination and psychic processes.

Emerson's self-reliance was from the Jupiter, and got expressed by the septile through the Moon.

The Moon = the totality of the organization of the degrees as the bodily subject.

Wagner Jupiter -- only regulars to Jupiter: opposite Mars, trine Sun, square Mercury.

= incredible faith in his own inspiration, which had to be bodily expressed (= his incredible finickiness). A profound awareness of the body brought his intuition.

Lowest level -- reason-principles have to be understood in terms of the body.

Pluto was septile Wagner's Jupiter when he wrote Tannhäuser.

Pluto was on 23° Aries ["A woman clothed in the delicate tints of early summer is seen carrying a heavy and valuable but veiled burden."] and brought out the essence of his natal Pluto [Pisces 21, "A child who is strange to rural life has taken violent fancy to a little white lamb and a Chinese servant smiles."] which was mythological.

Uranus (Indians setting up camp) [Scorpio 26, "A group of American Indians are making camp; as if by magic the teepees are erected and home comfort established."] was biquintile with Jupiter.
