Septile can be to two different degrees

1° Aries → 21° or 22° Taurus

Other degree can be to two degrees

21° Taurus → 30° Pisces or 1° Aries

One-degree -- same symbol

One-degree -- not same symbol

Two-degree -- not same symbol

Are aspects between planets (don't have to be same degree) or degrees (same degree)?

Question -- what is a septile:

Up to 1°26' by orb can be exact by degree

Can be 27' by orb and not exact by degree

Examples:

1) Mars (Sagittarius 22, "A perfect bit of the old world is found in the new; a Chinese laundry has its shutters up and is now itself") tri-septile Venus (Cancer 18, "On all sides is the bustle of the barnyard, and in its old-fashioned and natural life a hen clucks among her chicks").

Mars = uniqueness or oldness and seclusion of the ego in its own functioning

Venus = natural life or instinctual functioning is what is valued

Septile = if one grounded himself in the instinctual life, he would arrive at the truth of his own ego (Venus → Mars), or [if] one returned to a separateness of his own ego, it would be seen as a comfortable, natural functioning.

Both the degree meanings and functions were fused in this septile (exact both ways).

In a septile not exact by degree, both ideas may not be fused.

His self-drive and aesthetic function were fused.

Union of functions = hierosgamos (union of shadow and anima).

From the viewpoint of psychic subject, the problem of opposites arises and is achieved through Mars Venus union.

Two degrees = the ideas fused give the idea of the subject as the psychosomatic entity.

Septile gives a fixed worldview about truth which pervaded his thinking.

2) Uranus (Leo 15, "The great American carnival, the Mardi Gras at New Orleans, is seen with a wealth of floats, decorations and merriment") bi-septile Neptune (Taurus 4, "The rainbow's pot of gold is revealed in the midst of a shower of sparkling and flashing colors")

Uranus -- knowledge defined by the reason-principles as embodied in the tropes

Neptune -- seeing the gross as a manifestation of the subtle

Neptune conjunct Sun -- idea of mandala, Septem Sermon, archetypes of anima, self [Note: Septem Sermones ad Mortuos or The Seven Sermons to the Dead was published posthumously in The Red Book. See C. G. Jung, The Red Book: Liber Novus, ed. Sonu Shamdasani, Norton, 2009.]

Septile tracing from the unconscious to conscious (Neptune) was in terms of seeing the archetypes in the tropes (Uranus) -- the psyche was taken as a real.

Neptune conjunct Uranus -- idea of self as an archetype

Neptune deals with the relation of the individual life and the universal life and the guaranteed results of that.

Uranus -- the significance of the self would be manifested (embodied).

Septile -- the relation/interaction between the universal and individual life is seen as the manifesting of the self, i.e., the guaranteed results of the Neptune degree process is seen as the Uranus.

Neptune (faith) Uranus (demonstrated)

It is being demonstrated that the self-significance is being manifested.

It was a feeling and knowing. Knowing is manifesting the ideas, which are causing knowing to function.

[Note: The following few sentences in AB notes have multiple errors (and some omissions). They are here corrected.]

In 1903, [progressed] Neptune retrograded into 3° Taurus ("A beautiful expanse shows natural steps leading upward to a lawn of clover in full bloom"), which was exact septile to Uranus -- met Freud (1904).

[Progressed] Neptune stayed in 3° Taurus until 1953 (78 years old).

Wife died (1955), read Buddhism.

2° Taurus, "A brilliant electrical display illuminates the heavens and the forests beneath" -- 78 to 86 (1953-1961). [Note: AB mistakenly has here 3 Taurus, with a description of that degree. Progressed Neptune was at 3 Taurus from the ages of 28-78.]

At age 5, 1880, Uranus moved forward into 16° Leo, "The sunshine floods the sleepy village street, a storm has left everything drenched, and wondrously refreshed."

Cured himself of epilepsy.

On degree until 1896 -- first speech on parapsychology -- 21 years old.

1912 moved to next degree -- 17° (A volunteer church choir is seen during rehearsal, far more interested in social than musical elements of the occasion), leaving septile, affair with Toni Wolff.

Uranus and Neptune exactly septile in late teens.

Uranus and Neptune exactly septile from 1880 to end of life (from either direction -- progressed Uranus septile natal Neptune or progressed Neptune septile natal Uranus).

1902-1912 Uranus septile Neptune at same time. Age 27-37.

1902 -- Janet in Paris

1904 -- met Freud
