III.8.6. The Soul is the "cognitive isness" as referring to vision (not just Soul conjoined to the Nous); the Soul is not self knowing, only knows the Nous through the Nous.

III.9.6. Detached intellections. Soul has to know enough about Nous to know about itself. "We know it is ourselves that we know."
