For destiny to have brought these teachings -- this metaphysical doctrine of the truth -- to your attention, and further a response from your deepest heart to its ultimate authenticity may be considered among one's greatest blessings [--] a simple life dedicated to a great purpose.

No greater service can be done for mankind than to state the doctrine unequivocally – rather than to ceaselessly correcting than [sic] many expressions that are to be found now

Our most precious heritage -- philosophy -- is restored and renewed in a most thoroughly comprehensive fashion in these posthumous writings of P.B. We will find within these volumes in the most transparent clarity an extensive survey in our own modern idiom of every necessary item and detail needed by any seeker of truth. Regardless of how few or many. Irrecovably [Irrevocably] & finally -- the challenge of our times with its degrading dehumanization, is confronted and point by point, answered by this master of the subtle. Thru his life -- the heroism and personal achievement of his idealism, there blossoms forth an indescribable beauty & felicity of the spirit as a benediction to any sincere devotee of truth. We have been denied our rightful sources of wisdom thru a variety of causes -- but certainly among them can be included the hypocritical word-monger and sophist that thru out our history claimed knowledge but sported egotistical fanaticism and ignorance. We have had our sages -- repeatedly ignored as the commentaries abundantly reveal . . . . for their penetrating intellectual analysis was confounded by their incapacity to understand themselves . . . without which [incomplete]

The doctrine of the One-Only of Plotinus must be understood as non-dual. Two can't be contrasted with it!

Our degrees or Ideas in the chart are the Gods or Universals which we contemplate by & thru living or retrospectively in reflection

The I.P. & Soul arise spontaneously from (within) mind.

It is its own cause

Eternals are brought into actuality from potentiality by themselves –

To properly understand this the two must exist

mind & its expression but the expression [sic] bring themselves about

Beings arise from & within beyond-being not caused by beyond-being

If soul is to know the sensible it must become the sensible object and then enter into relations with a body that is so assimilated

One theory asserts that all we have is a mentalistic world – it reduces all distinctions such as individual and cosmic mentalism.

The other theory insist[s] upon the valid distinctions that exist within the apparent world between the empirical and the illusory: between empirical objects and the knowledge of them – ie extra mental. This would consequently maintain the vritti theory as 4 fold[;] the above would consider it 3 fold

Motion is knowledge -- think for ex of the dynamic tones that in themselves are only the means thru which the flow of melody is revealed

Use the planets analogously[:] their instant by instant motion is not in itself our knowledge -- the uninterrupted rise & fall etc -- but the pure dynamism which is in a sense non-material & not a 'part' of external world.

The astrological classes are/can be a tool, a device for the development of creative thinking. The attempt to understand another forces you to let go of your identification with the degrees, your presupposition

How wondrously strange and full of grace this appreciation of inspired music continues to be throughout my life.
